I really like the symbolism of the spider lily, which represents death, separation, and rebirth, so I created this piece showing the flower growing from a dead crane. Cranes usually symbolize longevity and peace, but here the crane’s death represents the end of one life while the blooming flowers represent the beginning of another. The melting butterflies add to the theme of transformation and fading beauty.
